The cart drawer and the way into checkout

We made the cart's small headings dark enough to read, for shoppers with low vision or anyone zoomed in. Then we checked the fix once it was live.

The cart's headings were too pale to read

The small headings over the cart, Product, Quantity and Total, were pale gray on cream. Anyone who needs stronger contrast had to squint, on the cart page and in the drawer. It's the theme's code, so your developer can change it.

Before,  4.38 to 1

The top of the cart page on a phone, October 10, 2026, before the fix. We've outlined the small headings Product and Total, which are pale.

After

After the fix, the headings "Product" and "Total" are darker, the same gray as the price and size under the shoe's name. There's no outline in this one.

Contrast is how much darker text is than its background. Small text needs at least 4.5 to 1.

The cart on a phone: October 10, 2026, before the fix, and October 11, after it.

One line, in one file

Dawn fades the cart's headings twice. We removed the second fade, so now they look like the rest of the cart's text, on the cart page and in the drawer. Nothing else changed.

For your developer

Removes opacity: 0.85 from .cart-items th in assets/component-cart-items.css, the file the cart page and the drawer share.

.cart-items th {   text-align: left;   padding-bottom: 1.8rem; Taken out:   opacity: 0.85;   font-weight: normal; }

On your store, each fix waits on an unpublished copy until you say yes. Then, if you're on Engage, your developer publishes it. On Resolve or Defend, we do.

Checked on the live store

On October 10 we saw the fix live. Same check, no sign of the problem.

Each time our checks finish, an outside service stamps the record with the date. So anyone can see if an entry was changed afterward.

Press play for a short bit of our keyboard check. A computer voice points out three things, and you can read along. Our software recorded this one; on your store, a person signs off every check.
